04 Mar Microscopy – A quick and easy way to know more about your health!
Many years ago, I started to provide Live Cell Microscopy testing in the clinic, and it has transformed our treatment plans by providing instant health information to help patients get better as fast as possible. Microscopy is an amazing way to get information about immunity, digestion, nutrition, and cardiovascular health. This is especially helpful for prevention and cancer after-care because we can see issues before patients even feel any symptoms.
How does it work?
Our trained microscopist will prick your finger and use one drop of blood to view it under our microscope which is attached to a screen, so you can see everything she can see! She will look at the blood from afar, then zoom in very close to observe the quality and behaviour of your cells and plasma. Patients are amazed to see what their red and white blood cells look like, and to see them “in live action”. Of course, we explain everything we’re looking at and answer your questions. We can also see the quality of your plasma, which is the fluid your cells swim in. The quality of your plasma can tell a lot about your health.
As a naturopathic doctor, I often look at live blood for patients who need more information about prevention, immunity, digestion, nutrition, and cardiovascular health. The homeopath and nutritionist in our clinic also offer microscopy to enhance their treatment plans when necessary.
The appointment lasts for 30 minutes and can be requested as a stand-alone session as well for people who are just curious about their health. Your cells are replaced completely every 3-4 months, so rebookings are 1-4 months apart, depending on how closely you need to be monitored.
Who is it for?
Live Blood Analysis is for patients who need more information about their immune system, digestion, nutrition, and cardiovascular health. We can see the quality and behaviour of your white blood cells, which are a main aspect of immunity so that you can take the right supplements, or none at all if everything looks healthy! Nutritional deficiencies of oils, B vitamins, iron and antioxidants can change how the red blood cells look, and we can also tell if your supplements are not being absorbed. And lastly, we can see if you’re blood, and platelets look “sticky”. This is an aspect of blood that is very important to reduce the risk of strokes, heart diseases and blood clots.
Microscopy can be used as a tool for prevention and to optimize health after serious illnesses such as cancer. We can see issues in the blood much sooner than you can feel symptoms so that you can find the vulnerable areas and work on issues as early as possible.
